Arrested: Isaiah Maestas, 21, Boise

Charges: Aggravated Assault (F) – 2 counts, Enhancement for use of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony (F), Unlawful discharge of a firearm (F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (F)

On December 11, 2023, around 4:20 am Boise Police responded to a report of shots fired in an apartment on the 5800 block of N. Five Mile Road. When officers arrived they secured the scene and ensured the safety of those in the surrounding apartments. Thankfully, officers did not locate anyone who had been injured.  A preliminary investigation showed that the suspect, Isaiah Maestas, used a firearm to threaten two female victims after a verbal domestic dispute with one of the victims.  Evidence also shows Maestas discharged a firearm into the ceiling.  During further investigation officers also found Maestas to be in possession of numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia, a digital scale, and a large amount of cash. Maestas was taken to the Ada County Jail and booked on the listed charges.

“The Boise Police Department takes all acts of domestic violence seriously. If you or a loved one is experiencing domestic violence, please reach out to police or other support providers so we can work together toward a safe solution,” said Lieutenant Corey Smith. “Intervention is the best way to end the cycle of domestic violence and keep victims safe.”
